Being one of the first class national associations in China, China National Resources Recycling Association (CRRA) was founded in 1992 and is composed of dealers and processers including the Waste Materials Recycling Company, Recycling & Utilizing Company, Waste Materials Trading Company as well as scientific, educational and social groups and individuals. It is a registered legal entity authorized by Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China and consists of over 600 member units. Its headquarter are located in Beijing.

Most of the members of CRRA are major purchasers and traders of the waste materials who have storage capacity and transportation capability in cities and harbors all over China. They purchase not only the waste materials and waste electromechanical products, but also retired military equipment, airplanes, ships and vehicles. Having the ability to disassemble and process the waste materials, they have been the most important raw materials suppliers of the domestic metallurgical, mechanical and light industries
